WOD: Snatch 1RM. 185

I met with the Olympic lifting group today in the afternoon. Good times were had by all. I was inspired by the % of tube socks that were present. Highlights were almost all of Liz’s lifts, Scott’s retard strength, and Jimmy’s negative attitude (sarcastic). We finished up with some attempts at a 1 RM. I ended up getting 185 and missing 190. Not too happy with this, but it is 10 lbs above my BW. I don’t need quite as much volume in the warmup as I might think. Next time, I’ll lift bar, 95, 135, 155, then go for the PR.

So I’m going to start keeping track of my WODs on this blog from here out. I know I know, Jon=Soft Meat. The sad truth is is that I have all my workouts going back almost 3 years on a google calendar that I use. That calendar is nice because it is searchable, but isn’t really that easy to share.

In the hopes of starting a flame war, and increasing the number of people who read this I present the following comments about people I know who blog.

Aaron= If only you were as good at pressing weight overhead as you were at debate. You might get another scholarship.

Ryan= Too pretty. Way to pretty. The kid had on a matching yellow outfit yesterday.

Siddharth= Can’t even do a squat. Also heard him say, “We don’t just bring out the good bacon for any guest”.

Erika= Who goes all the way to China to marry someone from Seattle? Couldn’t you have just gone to a local Dungeons and Dragons camp and saved the cost of the flight?

Brian= I’m just happy you weren’t a logistics officer

Dan= Being that skinny is so 1995.

Curtis= Your music choices make me think I’m in the middle of a Luau while I’m doing Grace.

Liz= You need to take anger management classes. But for the opposite reason as most people.

Jarrid= You are single handedly supporting a local farm with the amount of eggs and milk you eat.

Sally= You were seriously excited when I recommended applying a pound of bacon to the site of your injury. You need to think about that.

Ally= Yoga? Really?

I’ll be adding more of these as I see fit.

And before you guys all say it. I know, I have a weight problem.

I did look really good yesterday though, i’ll have to repeat that outfit on special occasions :)

point taken… i think when i meet people in crossfit, i’m going to open with… “i need to be more aggressive with my lifts” and then we can just get that out of the way!

the class was fun last night… wish i would have gotten a few more, but hey, there’s always next time!

They did a nice job of hiding that feature.
