Got it. Thanks. And, yes, I'm sick of eating apples, but working through the last of the bushel. I try to chug enough water to ward of any hunger pangs caused by the apples. Count me as reader #19. I'll have to become a regular of PaNu as well.

Jen-

I'd put fruits in the same category as "Paleo Pancakes". If you are trying to lose body fat (which most people are) I wouldn't do it. However, if you are already at the BF you like, feel free to introduce them gradually and see how they work. Personally, I get hungry and tired if I start eating a bunch of apples.

So does that mean the Paleo Pancake recipes you posted back in September would be a 'no'? The ingredients seem acceptable.

Thanks for pointing out the quote “Fruits are just candy bars on trees”. I need to break my 3 apples a day habit.

Hey Kathryn:

I'm in almost total agreement with Dr. Harris on this one. One of the best things you can do for your health long term is break your addiction to "sweet" and sugar. I like his rule that if you have to put the word "Paleo" in front of it, don't eat.

I know this might be unneccessarily harsh, but it is what I honestly believe. Now if you want to eat a pile of flapjacks, half a gallon of syrup, and a tall glass of OJ be my guest. At least in that case, you aren't telling yourself you are being good.

I find the "Paleo" baked good in the same boat as my post on Jamba Juice last week. They are dangerous because you can tell yourself that you are eating healthy.

Thanks for sharing this blog, Jon. As my dad is visiting this weekend and I've been trying to extol to him the virtues of eating paleo, I was planning on cooking a great dinner followed by a paleo dessert -- after reading Dr. Harris's post from yesterday, I'm feeling more than a bit conflicted! I just made "paleo" pudding the other night and it was delicious...But Harris says that's conceptually just as bad as the real thing... Any thoughts on this and the subject of "paleo-ized" foods (pudding, cookies, crackers)?
